You want to become a part of »amici«?
We are excited about your interest in joining us in our choir or orchestra! We, the "amici", see ourselves as a semi-professional ensemble with high musical standards. The ensemble includes an extended chamber choir (approx. 35 singers) and a string ensemble (approx. 12 instrumentalists), which is supported by professional woodwind and brass players for selected concerts. As an ensemble, we offer a platform for music students (artistic, pedagogical, teaching) as well as the opportunity for ambitious amateur musicians to be part of a high-quality ensemble.
Choir and orchestra work continuously and across multiple concert programs. Around 10 to 15 concerts a year take place in Leipzig, as well as in Germany and abroad. Occasionally there are separate projects that are realized with adapted ensemble formations.
Our supporting association is organized as a non-profit association. The artistic direction and programmatic responsibility lie in the hands of Ron-Dirk Entleutner.
What you should bring with you:
- joy in making music
- several years of choral or orchestral experience
- sufficient time
- the ability to follow a rehearsal in german language
Our regular rehearsal times (outside of school vacations) are:
- Choir: Mondays, 7:30 to 10 pm
- Orchestra: Wednesdays, 7 to 9:30 pm
There are additional rehearsals and dress rehearsals before concerts, which can also take place at weekends. There are usually two annual rehearsal periods over the weekend (winter/autumn).
